Our First Trip to the ER as Parents!

Red decided to give us a little scare this weekend. He actually scratched his own little eye. Parental instincts kicked in as we rushed him to the Animal ER in Totem Lake. Thankfully, he is all fixed up with antibiotics, pain killers and yes, this pitiful protective cone... Isn't he such a cute little patient???

Our One Year Anniversary... Already!

I know!! We can't believe it has been a whole year since our wedding day! Greg took me to the Alderbrook Resort & Spa to celebrate the occasion with a romantic weekend getaway...

We took the Ferry from Settle to Bremerton on what I think was the most beautiful day of the year...

It was my first Seattle Ferry ride, so I snapped a ton of pictures...

Greg showing our wonderful room at the Resort...

The View from our private deck...

We found this great little local Cafe that served a great breakfast (and lunch too)...

We had a blast celebrating out first anniversary...very romantic my husband of one year is! I also have to share another story of how romantic my husband is...

One of my other gifts was given to me before we left for the weekend away. Greg told me to close my eyes as he explained the gift. He started telling me how most couples save, freeze and then eat part of their wedding cake on their first anniversary. In our case, we had cupcakes instead of cake. Well, Greg went on to say that he had a diet friendly version of that tradition for me (for those of you that don't know, I have recently started a new workout and strict diet regimen (thanks X-Gym!) that he has been very supportive of). I held out my hand, and as I opened my eyes I found a darling t-shirt that read: "Kara's Cupcakes, San Francisco, CA". I know, you are thinking that Greg had a t-shirt specially made for me with my name, cupcakes and one of our honeymoon destinations on it. But no, when we left Cancun and wend to San Francisco for the last part of our Honeymoon, we came across a business near Ghirardelli Square called Kara's Cupcakes! Unfortunately they had not yet opened, so we were not able to get one of their tasty cupcakes. So, for my surprise, Greg looked the new business up, and ordered me a t-shirt from them. It was so special to me...I couldn't ask for more! I had to take a picture of it for all to see...

Thanks for the perfect weekend baby...I love you the word after love!

Playing at the Hicks'

Sadie brought Levi and Greyson over to play last week...we just love our little Arnold boys!

Levi has a toy box that we keep here at the condo for him. He decided to be one of the toys IN the box this time...

Red wanted to be a toy in the box too, but there was not enough room...

Red enjoys hangin' out with Greyson...

Levi and the famous new "Pack-Pack"...

Levi gave Red a kiss on his way out the door...

Thanks for coming over to play...we had a blast!

Snow Day!

Red and I had a lot of fun together today enjoying our FIRST snow day of the winter. I got these fun shots after the sky started to clear up, but it started snowing again not too long after that.

I could not resist. Red's cute face was just asking to be photographed...

The only bummer of the day was that Greg had to go to work. He decided to take the bus in since no one was making it up from the bottom of the hill at our condo complex. Funny thing was that the bus got stuck on a hill (along with 2 others) and his buddy Chris had to come pick him up and take him to work.

We missed you today baby!
Love,
Kara and Red!

Kasey Jean!

Greg and I got the chance to meet up with my cousin Kasey a few weeks ago for lunch. Needless to say, we have fun together...

We couldn't resist a little indulgence...

Yummy...

We let Greg have some too...

Kasey, it was great to see you! Thanks for a fun afternoon of "catching up" We love you!

Sadie's 29th Birthday!

Christmas Day!

Christmas 2007 is here...

Greg and I had a great time down in Salem and in McMinnville for our first Christmas as a married couple! Here are some pictures from our trip.

I don't think it will take too long to find out who the star of the show was...

Karis in her Christmas Dress...

Me and my big sis...

Such a good lookin' group...

Karis just loves this little doggy...it always gets a little giggle out of her that just makes you melt...

Grandpa and Karis playing and giggling...

Such a cutie...

Karis found a present and starts to get the idea of opening all her presents...

Karis playing with her Uncle Ryan...

This is something that dad use to do with us kids. He would swing us back and forth. As you can see Karis enjoyed it just as much as we did...

Karis decided to take a reading break in the middle of all the present opening extravaganza...

Here is a shot of Karis heading towards my parents gift from Greg and I. We got this great frame from Costco that holds 30 pictures. We picked out 30 of our favorite wedding photos done by Airika and Gerald Pope (Check out their blog located to the right!). They have such a fun photo journalistic style that looking at the picture frame with all the photos is like reading a story. We got a few teary eyes out of my parents when they opened it they loved it so much...

Karis got her first Cabbage Patch Kid from Uncle Ryan and Aunt Amanda...

Karis discovered that there was a bear stuck in the tree and decided to try and rescue it...

After a long morning of present opening, Karis started getting pretty weary...

Overall, we had a blast this Christmas! It sure was fun, and different for our family to have a "little one" around for Christmas. Mabe there will be another one around next year (Ryan and Amanda...you guys are next!) :) Just kidding, no pressure!

Vance and Alicia, thanks again for letting us stay at your wonderful home! We had a great time!
