A Saturday Afternoon at Pike
This Saturday Greg and I decided to go down to Pike Place to take in one of our favorite Seattle activities since we didn't have anything on the calendar. It is pretty funny that we don't do this more often, but after having so much fun this Saturday I think we are going to try to make this more of a habit. We started out by going to Beechers Cheese Market and picked up some of the most delicious cheese curd with herbs you have ever tasted. Greg also had some of their "World Famous Mac and Cheese". After that, since it was a bit of a cold day, I picked up some coffee from the First Starbucks...what a mad house! I decided just to get some good old drip coffee after I saw a line, or should a say crowd of about 20 people waiting for their latte's and mocha's. With a nice cup of warm coffee in my hand, Greg and I headed to the Piroshky Bakery. I think that is Greg's favorite Pike treat. We then picked up some fresh cilantro and some limes from one of the produce stands...I am going to try to make a Cilantro-Lime Vinaigrette...I will let you know how it turns out. After that we went to the Pike Place Brewery for some appetizers, hit a fun boutique that had some great clothes from Spain and then we headed home. It was a great Saturday afternoon in Seattle!
"Look Uncle Gregor, I can catch!"
This Saturday Levi and Greyson came over to play for a little bit while Sadie went and got her workout on. What was most exciting was that Levi can now play catch! He has always been a very good "tosser" but just recently picked up the "catching" part of the activity. So, Greg and Levi played catch with the football for quite a while.

Utah Blaze Justin Skaggs Day
Greg was very excited to be able to fly to Salt Lake a few weeks ago to attend "Justin Skaggs Day" at the Utah Blaze's 3rd Home Game of the season. Greg had a short, but great trip. Cory drove in from Missouri and picked up Justin's brother, Dusty and his girlfriend. The Blaze honored Justin by dedicating the whole day to him including pre-game festivities, involving Tara, Jake and Abby in the coin toss as well as retiring Justin's jersey - never to be worn by another Blaze player. Greg said it was all done very well, and that the Blaze is a classy organization that took very good care of all of Justin's family and close friends during the whole weekend.

The trip would not have been complete without a trip to Cabella's...
Here is a short video Greg shot at the Game honoring Justin...sorry you can't really hear the audio!
New Successes with X-Gym
After my first 8 weeks of very hard work with the X-Gym Workouts and Eating plan I was excited to find out that I really have made some pretty good progress. I have lost 3.4% body fat! Yeah! I had felt that I was making good progress just by the fit of my clothes, and by the comments from Greg, but it was nice to see the results on paper. I am not ready to post any pictures yet, but I am looking forward to seeing where I will be in another 8 or 16 weeks! Thanks to everyone that is so supportive and encouraging to me in this journey!
Karis' First Birthday
I know! I can't believe it either! Our little niece Karis turned 1 year old a few weeks ago!
I actually shot a video of everyone singing Happy Birthday to Karis all the way through when she ate her first cupcake but unfortunately I downloaded the video wrong. I am so sad that I lost it it makes me sick. Oh well, maybe I will capture next years birthday. :)

A New Grad Date for Kara
As most of you know I have been taking classes full time since October of last year to finish my BA in Business Management. When I first started classes it looked like I was going to have a graduation date of April 2009, BUT...after a little strategizing I am now going to be done with my classes at Northwest University THIS October! I am so excited! I can't wait to be done! The great thing is that we had already been planning an October Vacation to Cancun with the Hicks family. So, my last class will be on October 6th and we will be departing for Cancun the morning of the 7th! Happy Graduation to me! :)
Our St. Patrick’s Day Feast
Greg made his famous Corned Beef and Cabbage for St. Patrick's Day this year. It was WONDERFUL! He even downloaded some Irish music for us to listen to while we feasted on our wonderful meal.
Since I am still on the X-Gym "plan" we had sugar free green Jell-o with a little fat free cool whip for dessert.
It was a great St. Patrick's Day!
Red's Return to the ER
So Red had a bit of a difficult March. It started with the eye scratch and then no less then a few weeks later was back in the ER with some booty troubles. He somehow ruptured a gland, which lead to him being "put under" and a minor surgery. We hope that his ER visits are all behind us now!
They had to shave some hair off his little leg to put an IV in.
Who knew that it took a whole page of instructions and 4 meds to nurse our doggy back to health!
Thankfully he is finally on the mend and doing well!
Red and Tia's week of Fun Together
Red was excited to find out that the Arnold Family would be going on vacation for a week which meant only one thing...a whole week together with his best buddy Tia.
They keep watch over our condo together...
They eat together...
And they sleep together...
Basically, they have a lot of fun together. Red and Tia LOVE vacations!
