Red and I had a lot of fun together today enjoying our FIRST snow day of the winter. I got these fun shots after the sky started to clear up, but it started snowing again not too long after that.
I could not resist. Red's cute face was just asking to be photographed...
The only bummer of the day was that Greg had to go to work. He decided to take the bus in since no one was making it up from the bottom of the hill at our condo complex. Funny thing was that the bus got stuck on a hill (along with 2 others) and his buddy Chris had to come pick him up and take him to work.
We missed you today baby!
Love,
Kara and Red!

Christmas Day!
Christmas 2007 is here...
Greg and I had a great time down in Salem and in McMinnville for our first Christmas as a married couple! Here are some pictures from our trip.
I don't think it will take too long to find out who the star of the show was...
Karis in her Christmas Dress...
Me and my big sis...
Such a good lookin' group...
Karis just loves this little doggy...it always gets a little giggle out of her that just makes you melt...
Grandpa and Karis playing and giggling...
Such a cutie...
Karis found a present and starts to get the idea of opening all her presents...
Karis playing with her Uncle Ryan...
This is something that dad use to do with us kids. He would swing us back and forth. As you can see Karis enjoyed it just as much as we did...
Karis decided to take a reading break in the middle of all the present opening extravaganza...
Here is a shot of Karis heading towards my parents gift from Greg and I. We got this great frame from Costco that holds 30 pictures. We picked out 30 of our favorite wedding photos done by Airika and Gerald Pope (Check out their blog located to the right!). They have such a fun photo journalistic style that looking at the picture frame with all the photos is like reading a story. We got a few teary eyes out of my parents when they opened it they loved it so much...
Karis got her first Cabbage Patch Kid from Uncle Ryan and Aunt Amanda...
Karis discovered that there was a bear stuck in the tree and decided to try and rescue it...
After a long morning of present opening, Karis started getting pretty weary...
Overall, we had a blast this Christmas! It sure was fun, and different for our family to have a "little one" around for Christmas. Mabe there will be another one around next year (Ryan and Amanda...you guys are next!) :) Just kidding, no pressure!
Vance and Alicia, thanks again for letting us stay at your wonderful home! We had a great time!
Christmas Eve on the Coast
Greg and I headed down to Astoria to spend the night with my parents on Christmas Eve Eve night.
We got up Christmas Eve morning to a wonderful breakfast prepared my Mom and then we headed out to check out some of the major storm distruction that happend a few weeks prior. It was unreal! We had never seen anything like it...trees down everywhere!
Our little drive took us out the the South Jetty where we got some great picures...
Here is Greg checking out some of the waves...
A great shot of my Mom, Dad and me...
The waves were pretty cool to watch...
After the Jetty stop we were headed into the Valley...
It actually started snowing a little on our drive...
We headed to Salem where we attended Christmas Eve Service at Vance and Alicia's home church. It was a wonderful traditional candle lit service! After that, we went back to the Bowmans Household for a delicious dinner!

The Leavenworth Snow Train! December 22nd, 2007...
One of our many wonderful Christmas gifts from Mark and Jan was a Hicks Family Day-o-fun on the Leavenworth Christmas Snow Train! We had such a BLAST!
We caught the train in downtown Seattle...they fed us breakfast on our snowy ride up north...were bussed into downtown Leavenworth...ate an authentic German lunch (and drinks!)...did some shopping...a little sledding (by just a few)...snapped some super snowy shots...got back on the train...were entertained by singers, bands, magicians, accordionists and Santa...fed us dinner...and dropped us off back in Seattle...All in just ONE day! We created some pretty fun memories...check out just a few of our fun pics from the day...
Mark and Jan on the train ride up...
Lori-girl and her "date"...
Playing Uno on the train...
The bus ride into town...
A nice group shot before lunch...
Mark and Jan raising their glasses to a great day...
Fun at our authentic German Lunch...
A shot in one of the many fun shops in town...
Fun with my hubby...
Crazy sisters...
One of my favorites...
Yes, it is blurry, but it is proof that I DID sled down a hill after finding a nice little child to borrow a sled from (Lori-girl gave it a ride too)...
On the train ride home, we got a great shot with Santa (even with the kind of schedule he was running just 3 days before Christmas!!!)...
As you can see, it really was a Day-o-Fun with the Fam!
Thanks so much Mark, Jan and Lori-girl for the fun memories!!!!

Christmas Card 2007!
We decided to do our own Christmas Card photo shoot right in our little condo since it was all decorated for Christmas.
We ended up with a great final product, but it was quite the task to get there. The challenge was proping up our little kodak point and shoot on one of our dining room chairs with empty boxes, wraped gifts and a pillow to get it positioned just right. Then, we found out that trying to get Red to look at the camera was quite the task too. So, as many of you already saw here was the winner of the "Hicks Christmas Card 2007"...
Here is a fun shot of my silly husband and our wonderful little Red-ster...
The photo shoot went on for quite some time, and Red started getting pretty exhausted...

Greg and I had the privilage of attending Grayson Jax's Baby Dedication. It was pretty awesome to get to see the whole Arnold family up there as Pastor Mike dedicated Grayson. Greg and I both love our little Arnold boys and to death! We love getting to watch them grow up into such wonderful little men of God. :)
